How your mascot costume gets made

Six stages, two approval gates and one delivery date. Here is exactly what happens, what we need from you at each point, and how long it takes.

Within 12 working hours
Brief and quotation
You send artwork and answer five questions about use. We come back with a price, a construction recommendation, a lead time and anything in the design that will not work in fabric — we would rather raise it now than surprise you at the proof stage.
2-3 days
Digital proof
Our designer produces a front, side and rear view of the costume as it will actually be built, with the fabric and colour selections marked. This is approval gate one. Revisions here are free and unlimited within reason.
3-5 days
Foam sculpting
The head is carved from dense EVA and PU foam by hand. We photograph it from five angles and send those photos to you. This is approval gate two, and it is the last point at which proportions can change without extra cost.
5-10 days
Patterning and sewing
Patterns are cut for the body, fur is laid with the nap running consistently across seams, and the suit is sewn with double-stitched stress seams. Eyes are 3D-formed, faces airbrushed, garments made as separate pieces.
2-3 days
Assembly and quality control
Fans and wiring are fitted, the harness is adjusted, and a member of our team wears the costume for a walk test — the same test we film for you. We check vision, balance, seam strength, zip travel and fan noise against a written checklist.
1-2 days plus transit
Packing and shipping
The costume is vacuum-packed where the construction allows, boxed with silica gel, and photographed as packed. We send tracking, the commercial invoice, packing list and HS codes the same day it leaves.

What we need from you to start

Character artwork in any form — vector, JPG, a photo of a drawing, or a written description
The performer's height, chest measurement and shoe size (or a range if it will be shared)
Where and how often the costume will be worn, and in what climate
Your delivery deadline and destination city
Any brand colour references — Pantone codes, a style guide, or a physical swatch

Realistic total timelines

Single custom character, standard: 22-30 days from artwork approval
Single character, rush: 14-18 days, subject to capacity
Set of 3-6 characters: 30-40 days
Volume order, 20+ pieces: 40-55 days
Repeat order from archived patterns: 12-18 days

About revisions

Changes at the digital proof stage and the foam stage are free. After the fur is cut, a change means remaking the affected part, which we will quote before doing anything. This is why we hold two formal approval gates rather than sending you a finished costume and hoping.
